ABOUT

LEARN WHO WE ARE

The Vincent House seeks to invest in the overall long term health of families in Middlebury through the day-to-day after school care of kids and the consistent support for families.

MAKING AN IMPACT in akron

A balanced and invested community of neighbors who are collectively empowering the youth in Middlebury to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.

Economic and racial disparities surround the neighborhoods with a majority of students coming from economically disadvantaged homes.

The majority of students are testing two or more levels behind, creating a compounding educational gap that is increasingly difficult to overcome as students progress.

Since 2017, the 5 neighborhoods we serve (East, South, University, Middlebury & Goodyear Heights) account for the majority of all violent youth crimes committed in Akron, highlighting the lack of resources and access for youth during discretionary time.

OUR APPROACH

In close partnership with local schools, we will support students through consistent and engaging academic programming that uses focused activities to address existing educational gaps.

Encouraging the consistent participation in structured recreational activities and free play as necessary to the emotional, social, cognitive and physical development of children.

A gathering place that unifies families within the neighborhood to collectively advocate, educate and inspire one another.
